Detachment Chaplain

Chaplain Enrique Gonzalez (Ricky) serves as the Chaplain for the McHenry County Marine Corps League Detachment #1009, providing spiritual guidance, moral support, and ceremonial leadership for Marines, veterans, and their families. He assists with invocations, memorial services, and offers support to members during times of need.

A proud veteran of both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Coast Guard, Chaplain Enrique completed a distinguished career of military and public service, including serving as a Lieutenant in the Coast Guard Reserve where he helped protect critical maritime infrastructure and supervised safety operations.

He has continued his commitment to public service through roles as a Special Agent with the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, a mentor to at-risk youth, and currently serves as a Boat Ranger with the Mundelein Park District. He also serves on the McHenry County Ethics Board and has volunteered as an ESL and youth tutor.

Chaplain Enrique holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Loyola University Chicago and completed leadership commission training through the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. He remains dedicated to supporting veterans, preserving Marine Corps traditions, and serving the McHenry County community.  Our Detachment is proud of the services he provides to our veteran community.
