Saturday begins with a Memorial Service for our Fallen and Business meetings concerning the Division including elections and appointments of Division officers. \nFriday evening\, the Military Order of the Devil Dogs\, an honorary society within the Marine Corps League will dinner and then gather for a growl (meeting) to discuss the business of the Order and participate in games and activities raising awareness and supporting local the Children’s Hospital Fund\, Operation Chow Hound (serving no-kill shelters) and other matters of the Order. \nOn Saturday evening there will be a social hour and a banquet dinner with guest speaker Col. Aaron Lloyd\, Commanding Officer\, 9th Marine Corps District.

DESCRIPTION:Each spring and fall\, the MCL Department of Illinois gather to discuss matters of importance within the forty-two MLC Detachments across the State of Illinois. The Spring Staff Meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Bloomington-Normal. \nThis is a single day event on Saturday with a room block for travelers Friday evening. The Military Order of the Devil Dogs will host a meet and greet for those that arrive Friday. The hotel room includes a free breakfast before the staff meeting. There will be a growl (meeting) of the Illinois Pack of the Military Order of the Devil Dogs Saturday afternoon following lunch. \nThe business meetings allow for the Department of Illinois to meet and convey information to the body of detachments attending as the detachments are able to voice their individual accomplishments and challenges as we prepare for the Department Convention being held in Crystal Lake on June 6-7\, 2025.

SUMMARY:Women's Introduction to Shooting Class
DESCRIPTION:An Introduction to Firearms Class by Women for Women\, the Instructor being a certified female trainer.  Class is limited to spouses or children of members of the McHenry County Detachment\, at least age 21\, and preferably for Women who had never utilized a firearm in the past.  There is a class room instruction period and practical application at the range.  This is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with a firearm and get trained in a safe environment.  Cost is $25 per female attendee and the firearms are limited to 22  to 380 caliber pistol.  Free pistol rental.  Attendees are asked to purchase ammunition at the range.  If you are bringing your own firearm\, you will need 100 rounds. \n

Meet at The parade begins at 11:00 a.m. at Central High School and runs east on Franklin Avenue\, north on Williams Street\, and west on Woodstock Street to Union Cemetery\, where a Memorial Service will be held at approximately Noon.\nAs a reminder\, the Memorial Day Parade and Cemetery Service is a solemn event intended to honor veterans and those who have given their lives for their country.
